The Challenge
The client relied on a single consumer-grade router for their trading floor. They lacked visibility into network traffic, had no intrusion prevention systems (IPS) in place, and suffered severe financial impact whenever their primary fiber line went down.
The Solution
We deployed a pair of Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) in an Active/Passive High Availability cluster. We configured SD-WAN routing to automatically failover from the primary fiber connection to a secondary 5G cellular backup line if packet loss exceeded thresholds. Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) was enabled to monitor Layer 7 traffic.
The Results
- ISP outages trigger a silent failover in under 3 seconds.
- Trading sessions remain connected during network transitions.
- Granular visibility achieved for tracking and blocking unauthorized application traffic.
